Shanghai Utensil Mold Factory Co., Ltd. (formerly known as Shanghai Huangfaji Machinery Factory) was founded in 1927. It is one of the earliest domestic enterprises specializing in the production of glass pressing machinery and glass molds. The founder of the company at that time was Huang Hairui. In 1927, he merged the four handicraft workshops and alley companies in Shanghai and established Shanghai Huangfaji Machinery Factory. In 1947, the first fully pneumatic glass press was designed. At its peak, the company had more than fifty employees, most of whom were from Changshu, Jiangsu Province. This should be the origin of Changshu becoming the hometown of molds now.
In the late 1980s, with the rise of township and village enterprises across the country, large-scale joint-venture factories and processing centers were set up. Some of Huang Faji's old technicians and workers were just about to retire. They responded to the call of their hometown and returned to their hometown in Changshu to help set up mold factories, such as Huang Faji. Founder Huang Hairui’s second generation Huang Genshou and third generation Huang Jian; former Huang Faji deputy factory director mold engineer He Hailin; technicians and technical workers include Ren Yuzhao, Ren Yuchang, Zhou Yusheng, Gao Miaolian, Xu Quansheng, Zhang Akun, Zhao Fengbiao and more than a dozen Huang Faji Seniors, as technical guides, are active in many mold factories in Changshu, helping them get started, mature and develop. The older generation of Huang Fa Kee has made an indelible contribution to today's prosperous mold town.
In 1947, the first fully pneumatically controlled 12-station cup press was successfully designed. Within a few decades to 1995, my country's glassware pressing industry gradually formed a unified semi-automatic production situation.
In 1996, we designed and manufactured the first mechanically driven, energy-saving, fully-automatic JBY-12 12-station cup press. It has the characteristics of energy saving, stability, low noise, simple operation, fast speed, few wearing parts, and long service life. It is an upgraded product of pneumatic press. This press has won five national patents and the Shanghai New Product Energy Saving Award. The team established to design this product was awarded the title of Shanghai Collective Model Worker.
In 1998, the first O-type cam divider-driven glass press was designed, which was specially designed for high-precision automotive glass lamps and industrial glass, filling a national gap.
In 1999, based on the JBY-12 motor-driven glass press, the JBY-12K hinge mold opening press was newly developed. It is suitable for producing various miscellaneous pieces of glassware with two-part molds and disc glassware with one-piece molds.
After the company was transformed from state-owned to private in 2001, the company's products have been continuously updated. In recent years, it has successively developed: JBY series of fully automatic (robot) energy-saving pneumatic and hydraulic presses; computer-controlled multi-function presses; SWBY series of servo gear-driven multi-function presses. Multi-station glass forming machine; DKBY series fully automatic computer-controlled mold opening press; JBY series hydraulic fully automatic production line; fully automatic four-color and six-color printing machines; HK-SF energy-saving servo tracking polishing and drying machine, etc. Among them, the fully automatic four-color printing, energy-saving polishing and drying machine, and multi-station glass forming machine have all obtained national invention patents.
Shanghai "Huangfaji" brand enjoys a high reputation in the industry. Its products are widely used in the domestic glassware industry and lighting manufacturing industry, with a market share of 50-60%, and are exported to Southeast Asia, Africa and other regions.

Today, when labor costs are rising and international competition is becoming increasingly fierce, our glassware industry should accept and adapt to the requirements of automated production lines as soon as possible, improve the product quality of the glassware industry, reduce costs, improve competitiveness, and jointly promote my country's glassware industry healthy development of the industry.
To this end, Huang Faji Company is also working hard to improve the quality of its products.
